ZESPRI® Kiwifruits are packed with all kinds of goodness. We invite Celebrity chef, Sam Leong, of the Tung Lok group fame to share with us a delicious and nutritious recipe that your entire family can enjoy.
Traditional Chicken in Sweet and Sour Sauce with ZESPRI® Kiwifruits (serves 4 persons)
INGREDIENTS: Chicken drum stick (diced) – 200g Corn flour (coating the chicken drum deep-frying) – a dash ZESPRI® Kiwifruits (diced) – 3pcs
SEASONING: Sweet and Sour Sauce (10 person) Water - 130 ml Sugar - 150g Salt - 10g Brown sugar - 60g White vinegar (add in once the mixtures above is cold) – 80ml Tomato sauce - up to taste
GARNISH : Coriander leave White sesame seed
METHOD OF PREPARATION
1. Marinated Chicken Drum Stick with the following ingredients:
Egg (1 pcs) Salt (¼ tsp) Sugar (¼ tsp) Sesame oil (a dash) Chinese wine (hua tiew chiew) – a dash Five spice powder (¼ tsp) Corn flour (2 tsp) 2. Bring all seasoning above Sweet and Sour Sauce to boil until sugar is dilute, except tomato sauce (set a-side) 3. Bring chicken drum marinated with above Marinated Chicken Drum Stick 30 minutes (set a-side) 4. Bring chicken drum stick coated with corn flour and bring to deep-fried in hot oil till brown color and cook 5. Heat wok hot with a bit oil and add in sweet and sour sauce and add enough tomato sauce to your liking and bring to boil 6. Add in chicken and kiwi fruits and toss well 7. Garnish with coriander leave and white sesame seed
